Avionics Technician

-Contract OR Contract to Direct Hire Opportunities

-Pay Rate up to $48.00/hr based on hands on experience.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Avionics Technician with experience in cable lay-ins, terminations, crimping, pinning, and soldering. The ideal candidate will be capable of assembling, modifying, and installing wire bundles, conductors, and other electrical components. You will need to document work performed, control equipment status tags, log critical information during installation, and verify parts requests. The role requires reading and interpreting schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and written instructions. You must be proficient with a variety of manual hand tools and specialized aircraft test equipment, and be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, modify, and install wire bundles, conductors, and electrical components.
  • Document work performed and control equipment status tags.
  • Log critical information during installations and verify parts requests.
  • Read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and wiring diagrams.
  • Use manual hand tools and specialized aircraft test equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisory staff.
  • Perform duties across all shifts and in various environmental conditions while wearing safety equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Avionic experience with troubleshooting and functional testing.
  • Proficiency in aircraft avionics systems and wiring.
  • Ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals.
  • Experience with avionics installation and repair.
  • Soldering and coaxial wiring expertise.
  • 4+ years of Electrical/Avionic aviation production experience preferred.
  • General knowledge of aviation electrical/avionic components and systems.
  • Prior experience working on helicopters.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Military experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of rotary or fixed-wing aircraft is beneficial.
  • A&P License is beneficial.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
