Job Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Driver to join our team at Norman Building Materials. This role is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of lumber and building materials to contractors, job sites, and residential customers. The CDL Driver is a frontline representative of our business and plays a critical role in maintaining excellent customer service and upholding delivery standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate Class A, B, or C vehicles to deliver materials to designated locations.
• Load and unload lumber and building materials using forklifts or manually as needed.
• Ensure materials are secured and transported safely, following DOT regulations and company safety policies.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and maintain accurate delivery logs and paperwork.
• Communicate with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
• Represent the company with professionalism and courtesy at all times while on the road and at job sites.
• Assist in the yard with material handling, organization, and customer pickups when delivery routes are completed.
• Report any delays, accidents, or vehicle issues immediately to the Logistics & Delivery Manager.

Qualifications:

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A, B, or C.
• Clean driving record and current DOT medical card.
• Minimum of 2 years commercial driving experience, preferably in a construction or building supply environment.
• Familiarity with operating flatbed trucks, forklifts, Moffett, or other delivery equipment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift and carry heavy materials (50–100 lbs.) and work in various weather conditions.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly with customers and coworkers.
• Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.

Work Environment:

• Work is performed outdoors, on the road, and at construction sites.
• Frequent lifting, bending, and exposure to elements required.
• Occasional work in the lumberyard when not on delivery routes.
