Base pay range $140,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr Title: VP of Finance Location: Hybrid - LA, NYC, and Austin/Houston area Role Overview As VP of Finance , you’ll own all core FP&A activities—planning, forecasting, reporting, and strategic analysis—across the business. You’ll partner closely with the CFO and executive team to turn data into insight and insight into action, influencing decisions across DTC, retail, operations, marketing, and product. Your work will help us optimize growth, ensure financial health, and scale our subscription and omnichannel model with precision. Key Responsibilities Strategic Financial Leadership Lead the company-wide annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range planning (LRP) processes. Build and maintain a fully integrated 3-statement financial model (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) to support strategic initiatives. Partner with the CFO and executive team to drive strategic decision-making with accurate, forward-looking financial insight. Translate complex financial data into actionable business strategies and clear executive presentations. Analyze financial and operational performance across business units; identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis, including ROI modeling for new investments, pricing strategies, and cost optimization. Benchmark performance against industry peers and track KPIs to inform continuous improvement. Partner with DTC, retail, and subscription leaders to assess performance, profitability, CAC, LTV, retention, and ROAS. Subscription & DTC Performance Analysis Track and analyze subscription metrics including churn, cohort performance, retention curves, and payback periods. Provide deep insights into marketing efficiency, customer acquisition and retention trends, and CAC/LTV dynamics. Build dashboards and models to drive DTC decision-making around pricing, promo strategy, and media mix optimization. Support retail expansion by modeling channel profitability, sell-in/sell-through scenarios, and operational requirements. Partner with functions to ensure forecasting accuracy and alignment with inventory planning. Cash Flow & Capital Management Lead 13-week cash forecasting and longer-term liquidity planning to support strategic investments and working capital needs. Monitor capital expenditures and provide forward-looking analysis to support production and inventory scaling. Strategic Initiatives & Stakeholder Reporting Prepare board presentations, investor updates, and lender compliance reports that clearly communicate performance and strategic priorities. Support capital planning, debt compliance, and fundraising efforts as needed. Provide financial due diligence, business case modeling, and post-acquisition integration support for strategic partnerships, acquisitions, or new ventures. Drive special projects and ad hoc analysis in collaboration with the CEO, CFO, and functional leaders. Cross-Functional Business Partnership Serve as a trusted advisor to Marketing, Product, and Operations leads, enabling data-driven decisions across the org. Drive accountability by delivering timely, actionable financial and operational insights to business leaders. Improve tools, systems, and processes (e.g., dashboards, KPIs, BI tools) to scale financial insights across the company. Champion cross-functional collaboration and elevate financial fluency across the organization. What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field; MBA, CPA, or CFA a strong plus. 8–12+ years of experience in FP&A, Strategic Finance, or similar roles within CPG, wellness, eCommerce, or subscription-based businesses. At least 3+ years in a leadership role, with proven ability to manage and scale high-impact teams. Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and performance management. Deep understanding of CAC/LTV, retention metrics, DTC economics, and omnichannel financial modeling. Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; proficiency in FP&A systems (e.g., NetSuite, Power BI, Looker, or similar). Proven success supporting high-growth, startup and early stage level consumer brands. Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to distill complexity into clarity for executive audiences. Track record of building scalable planning processes in fast-paced environments with a balance of strategic vision and tactical execution..
