Healthcare South, P.C. is seeking an experienced and highly qualified professional to join our leadership team as the Director of Finance and Reporting . In this pivotal role, you will oversee financial planning, reporting, operations, and compliance across our nine primary care, pediatrics and corporate offices. Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Develops and plans department objectives with the CEO and staff including short- and long-range accounting programs in budgeting, profit analysis, accounting systems, Medicare cost reporting, contract performance, and internal auditing.
- Assists with budgeting, audit, tax, corporate accounting, purchasing, long-range forecasting, and insurance activities for the organization as directed by the CEO.
- Leads and manages the finance team - Sr. Financial Analyst and Accounting ManagerResponsible for corporate insurance policies and the application process.
- Maintains banking relationships and approves ACH payments.
- Directs financial accounting functions to ensure timely, regular and accurate reporting of financial information. Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and audit recommendations.
- Works with staff to develop and approve financial statements, including balance sheets, profit/loss statements, and analysis of variances in accounts, ratios, income/expense, as well as investment analysis, e.g., effects of fee changes on costs and profits, return on investment, plan fee schedules, all health plan revenues, and understanding of claim processing.
- Reviews all third-party contracts and monitors contract revenues. Interacts with auditors, lenders, and other third-party agencies regarding accounting and reporting functions.
- Maintains knowledge of corporate taxation as it relates to shareholder year-end distributions.
- Completes shareholder draw analyses and provides reporting to executive leadership.
- Develops and implements a set of internal controls that are consistent with industry best practices.
- Oversees the annual financial audit, as well as other audits and reviews, including 401k audits, workers’ compensation audits, managed care contract performance, and funds flow analysis.
- Coordinates the preparation and issuance of the organization's annual reports. Reviews these, and other financial statements for Board of Directors.
- Directs the preparation of statistical information and reports for management, government, and other agencies.
- Helps reduce dependency on consulting and outside assistance with finance and reporting.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required . MBA or Master’s in Finance preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of director level financial management experience, with at least 2 years in a healthcare setting required.
- Managed care contract analysis experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in IT systems, data analysis, and report creation and dissemination required.
Performance Requirements:
Knowledge
- Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles, including budgeting, credit, investments, and internal controls necessary to lead a professional team
- Proficient in financial systems, spreadsheets, and business software applications
- Well-versed in management principles and practices for leading department staff effectively
- Knowledge of strategic business planning and performance-based management
- Familiarity with financial reporting and healthcare finance operations
Skills:
- Advanced ability to analyze complex financial data and prepare accurate, insightful reports
- Skilled in aligning financial policies with organizational objectives related to cost, fees, and credit
- Demonstrated initiative and sound judgment in making strategic financial decisions
- Strong interpersonal skills for building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including staff, auditors, and vendors
- Proven ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve accounting and financial issues
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) with hands-on experience
