Education Specialist Requisition ID req34428 Working Title Education Specialist Position Grade 11 Position Summary The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. This position is based in our Albuquerque, NM, office withno option for remote work. The position also involves travel throughout thestate, offering a dynamic and hands-on work experience. Join our team!The CDD Family and Community Partnerships Division is seeking to hire multiple experienced professionals to provide education and support coordination to individuals receiving Mi Via Medicaid Waiver services in New Mexico. Individuals hired for this position will help participants navigate the Mi Via Waiver system. This position will provide assistance and guidance with eligibility, certification, pre-planning, service and support plan development, and budget development as part of their assigned caseload. The role includes conducting monthly visits to see participants in their homes and community, providing education and training, and maintaining electronic clinical files in compliance with state guidance. The successful candidate will be working with a dynamic team of professionals to meet the needs of individuals and their families throughout New Mexico. Conditions of Employment Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. • Working with and supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and their families;
• Case management and accessing state and community systems, services and resources for persons with disabilities and their families;
• Self-directed supports and person-centered planning tools leading to the development and implementation of goals and activities.

Bilingual in English and Spanish and good verbal and written communication skills preferred. Strong analytic, problem solving and writing skills. Excellent interpersonal skills.
