Job Title: Material Handler
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to efficiently load and unload trucks and vans. The role involves the operation of a sit-down forklift and requires physical strength to lift products weighing up to 65 lbs. Ideal candidates will have over two years of experience, though we are open to various experience levels if other competencies are demonstrated. You will be responsible for picking and selecting specific customer orders and will need to follow written instructions accurately. Comprehensive training will be provided for other tasks.
Responsibilities
Load and unload trucks and vans using a sit-down forklift or manual lifting of products up to 65 lbs.
Select and pick specific customer orders accurately based on written instructions.
Must have experience using UPS shipping system.
Perform shipping, receiving, and inventory control tasks.
Operate a forklift safely and efficiently within the warehouse.
Essential Skills
2+ years of warehouse experience.
6+ months of forklift experience.
1+ year of material handling experience.
6+ months of experience using computer systems for inventory, specifically UPS or FedEx.
High school education or equivalent.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with shipping and receiving.
Knowledge of SAP and domestic shipping processes.
Ability to perform data entry and basic computer tasks.

Work Environment
This role is based in a smaller-sized warehouse that utilizes four primary dock doors. Candidates should be prepared for varying temperatures as the doors are often open, leading to chilly conditions. Dress appropriately for the weather to ensure comfort while performing duties

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Britain, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
