Position: Multi-Estate Property Manager

Location: San Diego, CA (Primary Base)
Schedule: Full-Time, On-Site and In-Field
Travel: Occasional domestic travel to additional properties

A dynamic family based in the San Diego area is seeking a professional and discreet Multi-Estate Property Manager to oversee a portfolio of private residential properties across multiple U.S. locations. The role will primarily focus on the San Diego residences - where most of the homes are concentrated - while also providing limited coordination for an East Coast property managed by a local team and a secondary residence in Northern California. The position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and overall readiness of each home.

This is a newly created position offering the opportunity to build structure, introduce best practices, and streamline communication across the family's properties. The ideal candidate will be resourceful, proactive, and comfortable balancing strategic oversight with hands-on management and support.

  • Oversee daily operations and maintenance of multiple residential properties in the San Diego area.
  • Coordinate with local vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure all properties are impeccably maintained and guest-ready.
  • Evaluate existing vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure quality and accountability.
  • Recruit, onboard, and supervise additional team members and vendors as needed.
  • Create and implement systems for scheduling, property readiness, and preventive maintenance across all properties.
  • Conduct regular property inspections, ensuring that maintenance, safety, and presentation standards are consistently upheld.
  • Oversee smart-home systems, Wi-Fi, AV, and security integrations, coordinating with technical support when needed.
  • Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance calendar (HVAC, plumbing, generators, pool systems, irrigation, pest control, etc.).
  • Manage security protocols, including access control, alarm systems, and coordination with security providers.
  • Build and maintain a digital House Manual detailing contacts, SOPs, maintenance schedules, vendor logs, and warranties.
  • Supervise small projects and renovations-soliciting bids, managing timelines, and ensuring quality control through completion.
  • Manage household and property budgets, invoices, and expense tracking in coordination with family office and accounting staff.
  • Maintain communication with the principals and team, providing regular updates and reports on projects and property conditions.
  • Coordinate with property management partners on the East Coast residence for guest stays, maintenance, and logistical needs.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating for property usage between family members and ensure smooth transitions between guests.
  • Maintain safety and emergency readiness plans, including drills, first-aid kits, and documentation compliance.
  • Travel occasionally for property visits, vendor management, and oversight of special projects as needed.

  • Experienced in residential property |estate management, hospitality management, and high-end operations.

  • Excellent at relationship management - able to work with discretion, diplomacy, and good judgment.
  • Technically savvy and able to introduce or manage digital systems for scheduling, maintenance tracking, and vendor coordination.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in multi-property | estate management - luxury hospitality management experience is a plus.
  • Local to the San Diego Area.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience overseeing budgets, invoices, and vendor contracts.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to communicate effectively with principals and partners.
  • A high level of integrity, confidentiality, and discretion is essential.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally.
  • Able to provide strong employment references and undergo an in-depth background check.
Compensation
  • $175,000-$200,000+ per year | depending on experience
