Job Description
As a PLC Programmer, you will collaborate with the engineering and operations teams to develop and implement automation solutions. You will support the electrical department by improving electrical diagrams and will occasionally travel to client sites for commissioning activities. You will represent the company professionally during these visits while also working with the design team and PLC department in the office.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and implement automation solutions in collaboration with engineering and operations teams.
+ Support the electrical department by improving electrical diagrams.
+ Travel for 2-3 weeks to client sites for commissioning, especially toward the end of the year.
+ Represent the company professionally during fieldwork.
+ Work with the fabrication shop to review project progress.
+ Collaborate with the design team and PLC department, sharing information and strategies.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in Siemens PLC programming and experience with TIA Portal.
+ Experience with Siemens Step 7 Classic and Allen Bradley PLCs.
+ Familiarity with VFDs and RSLogix5000.
+ Bachelor's degree in Automation, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Robotic Engineering.
+ 2-3+ years of experience in a similar role.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bilingual in Spanish and English is beneficial.
+ Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and SolidWorks for 3D modeling is a plus.
Work Environment
This role involves 2-3 weeks of travel for commissioning at client sites, primarily at the end of the year. Initially, you will work fully onsite for the first six months, transitioning to a flexible work environment with potential remote work one to two days a week. The team consists of five PLC programmers, working Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4 PM, in a shared cubicle space. Teamwork is crucial, with approximately 70% of tasks requiring collaboration. The role demands diligence to meet tight deadlines and lead times.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr.
