Rcoz is looking for a proactive and strategic Public Relations & Outreach Coordinator to help us expand our reach and impact.

This is currently a volunteer position.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in identifying and securing media and speaking opportunities, as well as outreach partnerships to promote our mission and programs. If you have a knack for storytelling, strong networking skills, and experience in PR or communications, we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and pitch speaking engagements, panel discussions, media opportunities, and outreach partnerships.
• Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media contacts, and event organizers.
• Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and outreach emails.
• Monitor media coverage and track engagement from outreach efforts.
• Work closely with the Rcoz team to align PR efforts with ongoing campaigns and events.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in PR, communications, journalism, or media relations.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in pitching and securing media or speaking engagements.
• Passion for mental health awareness and South Asian communities is a plus.
• Availability between 10 AM - 3 PM PT on weekdays.
• Hybrid role - occasional in-person meetings/events in the Bay Area.
• References required before starting.
