Registered Nurse (RN) Oncology Infusion - PRN

Wellstar Health System invites applications for a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) for its Oncology Infusion Therapy Clinician position. This role provides safe, evidence-based oncology infusion therapy to patients in an outpatient infusion center, keeping standards set by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association.

Job Summary

The RN Oncology Infusion Therapy Clinician functions under the direction of the Manager Infusion Therapy or other designated leader. The RN demonstrates knowledge, competency, and clinical expertise in oncology infusion therapy including hazardous drug therapies for treating malignant and nonmalignant conditions. This RN will regularly administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, antineoplastics agents, hazardous drugs, and targeted therapies.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform the nursing process using evidence?based practice and critical thinking, ensuring individualized patient care.
• Provide relationship?based, patient?centered care that addresses biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and educational needs.
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, antineoplastics agents, hazardous drugs, and targeted therapies.
• Maintain chemotherapy competence and keep current with the latest practice standards.
• Coordinate safe quality patient care through interdisciplinary communication and timely documentation.
• Participate in performance improvement, quality initiatives, and shared governance.
• Precept or mentor other professional nurses as needed.
• Promote evidence?based practice, nursing research, and continuous quality improvement.
• Support efficient use of resources and plan for the continuum of patient care.
• Comply with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Associates or Bachelors in Nursing.
• Licensure: RN Regular Nurse (Single State) or RN?Compact (multi?state).
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) or BLS?I. Chemotherapy competency required through an approved provider.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of direct patient care nursing; Minimum 2 years of outpatient oncology nursing experience.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills; ability to manage hazardous drugs per USP guidelines; competency in documentation and electronic health records; time management and multi?tasking.

Preferred Qualifications

• Oncology Certified Nurse.
• Additional oncology competency training or certification.
