Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A) to join our dynamic team. The SLP-A will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP CCC) to provide speech and language services to a diverse caseload of individuals. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of our clients while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist SLPs with screenings and assessments, including preparing materials and documenting observations.
  • Implement documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervising SLP.
  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services to individuals or groups as directed by the supervising SLP.
  • Document client progress and attendance accurately and promptly.
  • Prepare therapy materials and maintain an organized therapy environment.
  • Collaborate with the supervising SLP to adjust therapy activities as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other professionals regarding client progress and goals.
  • Adhere to all ethical guidelines and professional standards set forth by relevant licensing bodies.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.

  • Time Management: Effectively manage time and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and client needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or a Bachelor's degree in communication sciences and disorders.
  • Valid SLP-A license or certification in state(s) of hire or eligibility to obtain.
  • Experience with early intervention and working with children with autism.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with communication disorders, preferably in a clinical or educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of speech and language development and common communication disorders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records and therapy software.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit on the floor, kneel, crawl, squat, run or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to reach and hold objects.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds.
