Job Description

A leading and fast-growing accounting firm is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Review Accountant to join their growing team. This mid-level role is ideal for a seasoned tax professional with 5-10 years of experience, a strong generalist accounting background, and the ability to take ownership of client service from start to finish. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, client-first environment, can work independently, and brings a high level of accuracy and accountability to their work.


Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 / year DOE


Tax Review Accountant Responsibilities:

• Review tax returns for a variety of entity types, including individuals, partnerships, S-corps, and non-profits
• Perform quarterly and annual financial statement preparation
• Execute fiscal year-end closings and general accounting functions "soup to nuts"
• Communicate directly with clients to resolve issues and deliver outstanding service
• Maintain and update client records using CCH Access, CCH Engagement, and other platforms
• Collaborate with senior accountants, managers, and partners to ensure quality control and compliance
• Meet billable hour goals

Tax Review Accountant Requirements:

• 5-10 years of experience in tax review and general accounting
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA certification strongly preferred
• Expertise in CCH Access and CCH Engagement
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, BBNA, QuickBooks, and CCH Document
• Broad exposure to different tax types and client profiles
• Prior experience in a small to mid-sized public accounting firm
• Native English proficiency and excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter who can work independently with minimal hand-holding
• Strong technical knowledge of tax and financial reporting standards is a plus
• Ambitious and eager to grow within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial firm
• Comfortable with hybrid work and flexible in adapting to client needs
