Headquartered in Jeffersonville, Indiana, the company has 15,000 square feet of offices, a 150,000 square foot distribution center and over 1500 employees. Currently operating over 200 locations in eighteen (19) states. We are looking for some experienced, hard-working individuals to join our 1st Shift team at our Distribution Center. Regular Hours are 6:00am - 2:30 pm
Job Overview: Our Package Handler prepares and processes merchandise according to established procedures while meeting specific production, accuracy and safety standards. Maintains and verifies documentation to ensure the accurate and timely flow of merchandise through the distribution center.
Responsibilities include:
- Operate a hand truck
- Pull and pack shoes for shipment to our stores
- Pull and Pack shoes for fulfillment of Amazon online orders
- Manually load and unload trailers
- Be comfortable running automated shipping stations for shipping and receiving product
- Learn and follow all warehouse and company policies and procedures, including all safety requirements
- Resolve routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to Supervisor or Manager.
- Work cooperatively with Manager and Associates in order to complete tasks and support process improvements and cost reductions.
- Operate a forklift, is desirable but not required
- Other general warehouse tasks as assigned
Position Requirements:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, as assigned.
- Ability to make accurate and efficient decisions as to the best way to process an order.
- Prior Amazon order fulfillment experience, a plus.
- Must meet and maintain productivity and accuracy standards.
- Able to accurately perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Able to understand and communicate oral and written instruction.
- Able to maintain positive, professional and constructive communication with team members and management.
- Must pass Background Check
- Must be over 18 years of age
Physical activities include:
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, reach for, and grasp merchandise as needed to perform essential functions. Regularly required to lift or carry up to 20 lbs. Occasionally required to lift or carry between 30-50 lbs.
- Continuous physical exertion required, such as walking, standing, bending, and stooping in addition to material handling.
Work Environment:
- Base schedule of eight hours per shift, overtime will vary.
- The base schedule is forty-hour work week as a full-time position .
- Interior physical climate varies with some hot and cold extremes.
