Marketing and Events Manager - Full Time

Overview

 

Do you love downtown Rochester and are interested in marketing, communications, and events? If so, the Rochester Downtown Development Corporation (RDDC) is seeking a full-time Marketing and Events Manager! Since 1977, RDDC’s mission has been to drive economic vitality downtown, fostering a vibrant, inclusive community through transformative ideas and initiatives. As Marketing and Events Manager, you will play a key role in promoting RDDC’s marketing efforts and numerous events including downtown movies, happy hours, concerts, food truck events, economic growth luncheons, and more!

 

Responsibilities

 

Marketing and Communications:

  • Participate in the development and implementation of a strategic marketing plan that aligns with RDDC’s mission to drive economic vitality and foster an inclusive, vibrant downtown, in partnership with Director of Marketing.
  • Provide support for event promotion, website management, and communications across platforms such as Constant Contact and Squarespace.
  • Craft messaging that reflects the diverse interests of the varied downtown community, emphasizing inclusivity and accessibility.
  • Proactively identify new opportunities to promote downtown Rochester.

 

Social Media Management:

  • Develop and execute a social media content calendar that effectively tells the downtown story by promoting businesses, events, and initiatives.
  • Cultivate a positive online presence that boosts engagement, interest, and pride in downtown.
  • Tailor messaging to resonate with diverse audiences, including residents, businesses, and visitors.

 

Events & Meetings:

  • Support the RDDC team and vendors in the execution of events and activations
  • Partner with organizations and stakeholders on collaborative events that serve and enhance the downtown experience.
  • Assist with vendor and event partner coordination and communication
  • Provide on-site staff support during events, including assistance with set-up and tear-down as needed
  • Design meeting content and assist with communications, providing support for meetings and events as part of the RDDC team

Compensation

The salary for this position ranges from $60,000 - $70,000 and is dependent on experience and qualifications. RDDC offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package. RDDC is an equal-opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace.
