Note: Eligibility for benefits may vary by location. We are seeking a passionate Patient Safety Sitter to join our team and help us provide high-quality, efficient patient care. Our ideal candidate values the significance of patient care and is eager to contribute to our supportive environment. Job Summary and Qualifications The Patient Safety Sitter plays a vital role in patient-centered care by providing continuous observation for high-risk patients. Collaborating with the patient care team, the Sitter enhances patient safety and minimizes risks of falls and self-harm, also assisting with daily activities as needed. Responsibilities: Maintain continuous visual contact with patients, ensuring their safety even during family visits. Assist in patient transport and ensure safety during diagnostic tests and procedures. Establish and maintain a safe environment utilizing protocols to prevent falls, infections, and self-harm, conducting regular room assessments. Document patient status and activities accurately during each shift. Support nursing staff with various tasks when not directly observing patients. Actively participate in the healthcare team, promoting collaboration and a positive atmosphere. Contribute to departmental performance improvement initiatives. Restock necessary supplies in patient rooms as required. Qualifications: Must obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment. Must complete Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training within 30 days of employment.
